Mid-Century Art & Paintings
The gallery is presently exhibiting an extensive collection of renown New York artist Elizabeth Dart. She used a wide variety of styles, and excelled in watercolors, oils, and charcoals. On display are fine examples of her abstracts, along with her portraits and scenes from her world travels.
Elizabeth Dart received her formal art training at Norwich Art School of Norwich, Connecticut. Through an awarded scholarship, she attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Art at Boston University.
She further studied in New York City under painters Jean Liberti, Morris Kantor, Jon Corbino, and Hans Hoffmann.She became a free-lance artist in Design and Illustration, especially in the field of children's book publishing for MacMillan Publishing, Houghton Mifflin, Grosset Dunlop, Simon Schuster, and Golden Books. Besides New York, her work has been exhibited in Paris, Budapest, Salzberg, and Munich. One of her paintings is among the permanent collection of the Vatican Library in Rome.
