The images download can be rather large (i.e. 150KB to 300KB). Using a typical dial-in internet connection (56Kb), a file of size 200KB would require no less than 28 seconds to download. However, the panorama images are designed to be downloaded in three or four phases, with each phase providing additional detail. This should permit display of the image to begin almost immediately. Unfortunately, not all browsers honor this method of image encoding, and display of the image may be delayed until download is complete.
